ARCHITETTURE D'ACQUA

The “Architetture d’acqua” project was promoted by the Mantova Campus of Politecnico di Milano and the UNESCO Chair in Architectural Planning and Protection in World Heritage Cities which is based at the same university. The initiative is characterized by a clear vision of the importance of networking. Networking at an academic level, i.e., by bringing together the numerous competencies and scientific disciplines represented by the various lecturers involved. Networking at territorial level, involving municipal administrations and entities belonging to the provinces of Mantua and Verona, in the idea of creating a concrete project of study and intervention on the natural and artificial artefacts that characterize these territories. The look at the new, with a view to innovation and sustainability is accompanied by a sensitive attention to the ancient, so that the rich heritage of the territories and places along the course of the Mincio, Po and Oglio rivers can best be rediscovered and experienced.
